I purchased this TV after the digital TV transition in order to have a portable model to monitor the weather when my Direct TV was not working. When I ran the auto-scan program to pick up my local channels the scan did not find any channels. I also tried to program the channels manually using the digital channel number but without any luck. I called the toll free number for Haier and was told that this model required a converter box. That really confused me because I thought it was already digital.
