Cheapest Haier HLT71 7-Inch Handheld LCD TV

I picked one of these up hoping it would pull in the over the air digital channels for my wife to watch in the kitchen. Our other TV picks up the VERY FEW(2-4) channels we have perfectly with an old UHF antenna from an ancient portable B/W set. This one had no such luck, the included antenna (a single rabbit ear) and the aforementioned UHF antenna from my other set failed to bring in a single channel on the 7" Haier. When I hooked it up to the outdoor antenna everything came in perfectly however,(non digital channels included) The included battery after a full charge(3 or 4 hours) started to flash red(low batt) after maybe 40 mins of viewing, with the sound, brightness, contrast set to fairly low levels. I expected more from the tuner and the included rechargable battery, but the unit does have a nice 480i image and a decent set of speakers on it. The TV does have most of the settings you would find on a larger LCD (picture settings, sleep, WS zoom, etc..)but the remote is really lacking an instant button for CLOSED CAPTIONS which this set displays admirably. The RCA inputs make this valuable as an optional monitor for displaying JPEG SLIDESHOWS, playing older game systems, or using as a portable monitor for digital filmmaking or picture taking. Pretty cool little TV just don't expect too much out of the battery or tuner.Get more detail about Haier HLT71 7-Inch Handheld LCD TV.
