After reading other reviews, I felt that this tv had the possiblilty of receiving television reception in my area, the Windward side of Oahu in Hawaii, but that was not the case. I was optimistic because I had good reception on an analog black and white television that I used with a telescoping antenna and I was able to receive all the local channels. With the Haier and the antenna that came with it, I could not receive any channel on the first floor of my home. On the second floor, I could receive one channel, ION, which I must have been receiving from a satellite. I purchased an external antenna from Radio Shack and still could only receive ION. I must admit the picture clarity and color was excellent but the sound at 100% was still not loud enough to hear across a room. I was very disappointed because the set itself is nicely made, easy to use, nice size picture, but without local channel reception, I had to send it back which Amazon made very easy to do.
