I bought this little TV only 5 months ago. At the time, I was impressed and gave it a very favorable review. However, only 5 months later, I find that I was WRONG and I wish I could change the 4 stars I gave it to 0 stars, but Amazon apparently won't let me. It is defective and all I can do now is throw it away and buy something else. After about 5-10 minutes of use, the tuner dies and it cannot receive any broadcasts, on any channels at all.
The warranty only covers labor for 90 days! Anyone who has had anything electronic repaired in this millenium knows that the labor is by far the biggest repair expense. To offer to replace the 5 cent resistor (parts) that some technician charged $75 to find (labor) is not exactly cost effective.
So by having to discard a $125 TV every five months, I am basically paying the Chinese $25 a month for an itty bitty disposable TV. It's just not worth it.
I'm going to find something with at least a 1-year warranty or that's made in Japan. My old Sony Watchman lasted almost 25 years and, if not for the digital broadcasting switch, I would still be using it. Man, I sure wish Sony would make a digital Watchman....Get more detail about Haier HLT71 7-Inch Handheld LCD TV.
