Haier HLT71 7-Inch Portable LCD TV
There are already many reviews of this little TV so I will focus on just one point - its reception. We bought this TV to replace an analog, battery powered TV for use in emergencies and for its portability for moving room to room. However, with its included antenna, which must be relied on during power outages, the reception is unacceptable. We live just outside a large city in the area where all the broadcast TV towers are located. In fact, we can see three of them from our house and all the major network towers are within 3 miles. With our analog portable we never even had to extend the antenna and on our household TVs we use a straightened paper clip for UHF. Digital converter boxes work with the included monopole antenna on the TV the box is attached to. However, the Haier will not even recognize the digital NBC channel and breaks up on the digital ABC channel. PBS is broadcasting on analog and four digital subchannels - the Haier doesn't even know they're there! Fortunately we were able to return the unit to Amazon for a refund.
So, if you're looking for a reliable battery operated TV to keep you informed during those tornado warnings, hurricanes, or blizzards I would NOT recommend the Haier.Get more detail about Haier HLT71 7-Inch Handheld LCD TV.
